Former Country Manager of Amadeus Mexico is the new CEO of LastRoom

Strategic hiring at LastRoom: Federico Imposti leaves Amadeus Mexico becoming the new CEO of the Mexican travel startup

12 MARZO 2015, MEXICO CITY
Sumario
Federico Imposti, former Country Manager of Amadeus Mexico joins Mexican travel startup LastRoom as a new CEO. Imposti will help LastRoom grow its operations and consolidate its role as global provider of smart travel solutions in the primary markets of Mexico and USA. LastRoom’s hiring seems a quite strategic move considering the recent launch of Odizea, a redesigned booking platform tailored for travel agents and tourism suppliers, willing to gain access to a broad inventory of hotels worldwide in a smarter and simplified way. Imposti will formally join the team on April 1st, while former CEO and Cofounder, Josue Gio, will move to the role of Head of the Product.

Federico Imposti, former Country Manager of Amadeus Mexico, joins Mexican travel startup LastRoom as a new CEO, leading the growth strategy of one of the most promising travel companies, featured in the “Hot List 2015” of  Buying Business Travel.

Imposti has been leading Amadeus Mexico since 2011 and comes with a wealth of experience within the industry, having spent the last 20 years expanding the portfolio of the Spanish IT Group in the region. He now joins the Mexico City-based startup to further develop its growing network of clients and consolidate its position in the primary markets of Mexico and USA. LastRoom describes itself as a global provider of smart travel solutions aimed to reshape the travel management and the booking experience of business travelers and travel agents across the globe. Its travel booking solution designed for the SMBs has been already used by hundreds of US and Mexican companies since its beta launch last September during the TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco.

Imposti declares his excitement to start a new challenge within the Mexican startup: “I see a great potential in LastRoom; these guys are doing an amazing job improving the UX of the existent travel management solutions, focusing especially on the needs of a widely ignored SMBs’ market. I look forward to working with them, helping develop their clients network and contributing to the company’s growth as a new disruptive player within the industry.”

Considering Imposti’s track and background, this new hiring seems a quite strategic move for the Mexican startup, which has just released Odizea, a redesigned booking platform for travel agents and tourism suppliers. Odizea has been publicly launched in Mexico a week ago, raising the interest of nearly 100 travel agents so far and giving access to a premium content of all budget accommodations around the world in a smarter and simplified way. The platform will be available globally by the end of the month.

Imposti is officially joining LastRoom's team on April 1st, while Josue Gio, LastRoom’s Cofounder and former CEO, will move to the role of Head of the Product.
